Art events are a mesmerizing set of proceedings, which always drift the soul, another few inches closer to the life. Loaded with artistic nutrients, art events are a perfect place for those who crave to capture beauty in frame and thus take along those precious expressions. But as we live and shop for the various priceless emotions at the art events and exhibition, the preservation aspect gains immediate pertinence. This is true especially for the valuable oil paintings, which if not adequately cared for, tend to lose charm with time. Moreover, these classy oil painting come along with an expensive price tag and thus for years after the event, you would like to keep them, as they were, when you first saw them. Besides the paintings brings along with them effort and dedication of an artist, which for sure deserves special attention. While many think it is out rightly impossible to retain original flavour, following few guidelines can certainly help with the endeavour.

The first maintenance tip requires keeping off the dust. Only soft brushes or cotton buds or fibre cloth is to be used for this purpose and of course do not even try bumping the painting or pushing it against any surface. For the back side, either the brush or vacuum cleaner can be used. While cleaning, do not touch the artwork, use the frame for handling purposes. Keep in mind that the painting is very delicate and thus extreme caution is mandatory. If nothing else, try recalling the precautions event staff was exercising during the display and sale procedures. Also do not keep the painting for long under direct sunlight. Neither too cold, nor too humid is the perfect temperature instructions. If furnishing the wall with live plants, avoid direct contact with the painting. Likewise close proximity to fireplaces is not a wonderful idea. The painting needs its space, give it a personal wall. For temporary storage, cover both sides with cardboards, bubble wrap and tape firmly.
